Sunday, August 1st

Hello All!! Can you believe it is August 1st? I am actually struggling between 'already' and 'only.' Already because it is ALREADY August! Only because we are already starting school and it is ONLY August 1st!! My son's birthday is September 2nd. That used to be at the beginning of the school year. Now, it is a whole month away! Ok, now that we have that out of the way...moving on to this coming week!

PD Tomorrow:

We are going to meet from 8:30-11:30am in the staff room. The MP is not available because Adventure Club is there. That is ok, the staff room is more comfortable anyway! Breakfast and coffee will be provided by the PTC. Lunch will be provided by Chik-fil-A!! Winner winner chicken dinner!!

Reminders:

1) Wear something that represents you. You will be sharing the 'why.'

2) Bring your laptop.

3) If you are not verified as vaccinated, please wear your mask.

4) Sit with your PLC.

Staff Meeting: We will be meeting Wednesday from 8:30-11:30am in the staff room. I will be going over what coming back to school looks like in regard to masks, quarantines, etc. I will also talk about the first day of school and much more! We will also get duties, stipend roles and site contributions squared away.

Dates to Know: Please see this document for important dates of meetings. I have put them all on the staff calendar or the school calendar.

'21/'22 Stoneridge Dates to Know

Educator Blog: Please read the Educator Blog. There is A LOT of information, but it is all very helpful information!! It has answers to many questions you may have.

I think that is all for now. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. It is going to be awesome!!

Have a great evening!

Big Updates!!

Rugs: Yes, rugs. I mean, YES RUGS!! They are coming back. Brian, Silvia and Cedric are working to get them out of storage and ready for your classrooms.

SUPPLIES: Communal supplies are OK this year.  QUESTION~ When do you want parents to get them to you? My guess is BTSN and first week of school. Please let me know, so I can share with parents.

Back To School Night-FLIPPED: The majority of you voted for a flipped BTSN so that is what we are going to do. I wanted to let you know so you can start planning. I will send more information this week. One way you can do a video is by using FlipGrid which allows you to talk through your PowerPoint presentation. This may be the best bet, but I am happy to talk other options through with you.

Bell Schedule: Here is our bell schedule.

Stoneridge Bell Schedule

Coming next week in the Blog

The Site Contribution List: I will share next week so you can look at it. We will need to make some changes when we are together next week.

May 22, 2021

Well, here we are...the last week of school of the '20-'21 school year. One thing is for sure, we can definitely say it ended better than it started. It is going to be an emotional week, that much I know!

THANK YOU!! A HUGE thank you to Ally for hosting the end of the year party. It was absolutely perfect and a lot of fun. Ally, thank you for doing that at the most stressful time of the year!

Talent Show: I will be finalizing the talent show video Monday and will share it with you in case you would like to show it in class this week. It is pretty great and there are a broad range of talents.

End of Year Nuts and Bolts/Updates:

The schedule for next year is almost finished. Our hours will be 8:50-3:10. I did schedule 3 morning recesses with smaller groups like they are this year. Our lunch schedule will be nearly the same as it used to be. So, just a slight change.

This week, I will share a check out sign up. It looks like most of you would like to check out on Friday. That is great!

Please fill out the classroom furniture and fix form by the time you check out: Furniture/Fix Requests

Next week, I will share the grade level supply lists with families. We will share all lists with families. I may not do the Amazon Wish List, after all. The consensus seems to be that you can share those with your individual classes when the time comes.

There are still A LOT of library books out. If you can help encourage students to bring them back, that would be awesome!

Important: Many of you borrowed monitors for distance learning. If you have not returned them, please bring them to the staff room. We also need to do a technology inventory in each classroom. I will be sharing a document for that as well.

Still Coming:

Sign ups for leadership roles and committees for next year.

Final Bell Schedule

Duty Schedule (It may be awhile before this is ready. We are still waiting on guidelines.)

Coming Up This Week:

Wednesday, 5/26: Staff Meeting- We will have one last meeting to answer any last questions and wish everyone a wonderful summer!

Have a wonderful weekend!

May 16, 2021

Happy Sunday! I am going to be honest, this blog is going to be the Cliff Notes version of what is to come in email this week. It is a crazy day and I am trying to writing this real quick in between games.

Classroom Movement: I am going to share a document that lays everything out for you in regard to classroom movement, but for now, here are the key details:

1) Coordinate with the person whose room you will be moving to. Please have a space in your room available for the new person to start stacking things.

2) You have my permission and encouragement to use your students to help you move things the last week of school. (Don't tell anyone I said that:))

3) I will be sharing a document for you to share any furniture you need moved, removed or need added. On this document, you can also note any repairs that need to be done to your new classroom.

4) There will be a dumpster on campus to throw things away. Do not throw away furniture or any curriculum.

iReady: I am so sorry there was such a glitch last week. I think almost everyone is done. Please finish testing this week.

Data Check Ins: I send invites for the data check ins. We will talk about data and you can ask questions about the class lists. Please add your data to the data wall: Stoneridge Data Wall

Character Trait: I will continue to recognize Independence this week. I did not get to come around much last week.

Spirit Day: This Friday will be Summer wear! 😎

Coming Up This Week:

Wednesday, 5/19, at 3pm: Staff Meeting

If you have questions, let me know.

Enjoy your day! This meme is just because it feels like my life right now~ BASEBALL all day everyday! I also put it in the family blog. Clearly, my creativity is gone!

Sunday, May 9

Happy Mother's Day to all! Whether you are a mom or celebrating your mom, I hope you have a special day with family. I am starting this blog on Saturday in hopes for some relaxing on Sunday. I do know the most important plans include a game of kickball. We played last year, so that means it is a tradition, right? Ha! I sure hope the parents win again!

So, the end of the year is upon us. Honestly, I feel like it came out of nowhere. Just me? We have things to do like class lists and pinks/blues. Pinks and blues should be completed and given to Luisa. If you need some, she also has extras. Please get them to her by the last day of school. We will get them separated according to class lists created for next year.

Class Lists: Here is a document to start making class lists. You can work with your grade level to make balanced classes. We will be finding some time for grade levels above and below to work together to talk about the lists. But first, work within your grade level to create classes.

Class Lists

Student Requests: Each teacher may request three students based on family relationships, having siblings, etc. Here is a document to list your top three requests. There are no guarantees, but everyone will do their best. Please understand, there are ONLY three requests and they are not guaranteed.

Student Request

Classroom Movement: There is a lot of movement next year. I recommend you coordinate with the person's who classroom you are moving into. I will be providing dates and guidelines for the movement. There will be a dumpster on campus for you to use.

Data Discussions: On Monday, 5/17 and Tuesday, 5/18, I will be setting up appointments to talk about data and student progress. I will be sending invitations.

Teacher Appreciation Clarification: Out of good intention, I am afraid I created a bit of a conundrum when I asked for your $100 wish. We thought that PTC was going to be able to make the purchases, but PTC cannot buy personal items for teachers. As a work around, we reached out to parent liaisons for each class and shared the items from your list. It was up to the parent to work with parents in your class and choose something for you. I know that all of you were showered with love this last week!

Coming Up This Week:

This week, I will be resuming the Character recognition prizes, just don't ask me what character trait we will be recognizing. TBD.

No PLC Leadership Meeting this Wednesday

Friday, Spirit Day: Stoneridge Gear

Wednesday, 5/19, there will be a staff meeting at 3:00 pm.

Have a Wonderful Day!!

Sunday, May 2, 2021

Happy May! You know what that means, we are on the home stretch! There is officially light at the end of the tunnel. Then, we blink, and this year is over! It will be tough to say goodbye to this group of kids because I know that you have bonded in a much different way that makes it a special group.

I am going to keep this blog short and easy because we are kicking off a week dedicated to you, and I want you to kick it off with a light blog! Take in the showering this week and and enjoy every minute! My friends from the Bay Area have been reaching out throughout this pandemic adventure asking how we are doing it. How did we get back to school so soon and do it so well? What I tell them is that our teachers are awesome and willing to do anything. Do you know that many of the other districts are having trouble going back to school because the teachers are pushing back? Isn't that crazy? You all, well, we all were very nervous about all of the unknowns of going back. Ya, it was freaking scary! But you all did it. You adjusted, took it on, AND found out it was actually pretty great to be back in class with the kids. Some of you adapted in a different way and stayed with distance. You adapted too and also rocked it!

All I have to say, is that you are all amazing! I am the type of person that will rave and brag about people, but not tell the person, or people, directly. (I am still working on that!) So, THANK YOU for all you have taken on and all you do everyday! You are the BEST!!

Enjoy the rest of your day and this entire week!

A couple reminders and a BIG announcement

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!! A huge congratulations to Rori Wright who will be our site TOSA! I am excited to work with her to support all of you and our students. It is going to be amazing!

Character Trait: I will be coming around to celebrate those again this week, but I haven't picked one yet:)

Spirit Day: This Friday wear Red, White and Blue!

Also, remember tomorrow is Hat Day for the summer countdown calendar!

Sunday, April 25, 2021

I cannot believe this is the last week in April. Crazy! I also recognize that I have made a reference about how fast time is going in probably every other blog. Well, it is!! We are in a very different place right now than in a 'normal' year. There are still so many unanswered questions. I know it is uncomfortable, but it is the way it is. I will keep you as up to date and I possibly can.

Teachers Who Make a Difference: Please send your nominations to me this week!

Read A Thon Stand Outs: Please share the names of your read a thon stand outs, if you have not already. I am looking for those that earned a lot of money or those that were super excited about the read a thon. I will be choosing from those names for the big prizes on Monday at 10:40. I will have a Zoom link on the calendar.

Balls: Our balls are disappearing quickly. We are contemplating some new systems for next year, but for now we have to come up with a solution to get us through the end of the year. In one of our PLC Leadership meetings, we had talked about having class balls. Do you think this is something we could do? If you were to ask for ball donations and those would be your class balls for the rest of the year. Your class would be responsible for making sure they are taken care of and make it back to your classroom. We can talk about this more at out staff meeting, if that doesn't make sense.

Coming Up This Week:

Staff Meeting: Wednesday, April 28 at 2:30pm

Spirit Day: Wear a hat to Put a Lid on Leukemia!

Have a great week!

Monday, July 31st
