Sunday, March 27

April arrives this week. I feel like I was just talking about March arriving. Guess what? May is next and it will be here sooner than you think. Make the most of each day in front of you and don't forget to recognize all of the great things that happen each day. Summer is just around the corner.

Open House was amazing! Thank you for all of the work you put in to prepare. The kids were over the moon and so were the parents. I tried to get into every room but fell short because everyone was so excited to chat. They wanted to rave about all of you and talk about what a great year it has been. All I could do was agree!!

Reminder! Kelly's wedding shower is this week. Please RSVP if you able to come.

Sunday, March 20

Happy Spring! Today is the first day of Spring and we are at the end of March which absolutely blows me away! I know that this is a tough time: It feels long, the time change is painful, the kids are feeling springy--you know the drill. It is tough but you are tougher! Know that you are doing great. Also, let me know if I can support you in any way.

Monday, 3/21, PD Day:
We will meet in Sara Franco's room at 8:30am. Please sign up here for your Data Meeting Time

REMINDER: Please be at your classroom door when the bell rings. Whether it is before school, after recess, or after lunch, please be there waiting for them. These are unstructured times that allow for students to get into trouble. By being there ready, you are helping your students be successful. Thank you!

Parent Blog: I get smarter each week😊 Rather than copy everything into this blog, I decided including the link is a better idea. Here is the link to the parent blog.

Sunday, March 13

Happy Sunday! So, I did this today. I ran the Shamrock half marathon. I am sharing because I am proud of myself. Life has not been easy, but I managed to carve out the time to train for today. Am I going to do it again?? I sure hope not!! Ha! But I did it today. Please share what you are training for so I can support and encourage you!

IMPORTANT: Your PLC Lead should have shared some info with you about 'All Hands on Deck' this week. The students need some reinforcement in regard to expected behavior coming onto campus. Each grade level should have a part of campus to help with in the morning, before school. You will give PACK passes for students following our expectations. Thank you for your help with this!

Also Important: Due to current events, the district cannot get paper. Please be very mindful of the copies you are making and try to avoid doing activities on paper. When the paper is gone, it is gone. Like, literally GONE!!

PTC Updates: (The following was shared in the family blog)

Step it Up is almost over and the current donation is $29,250 with only two more days of fundraising ending on Tuesday. Nice job Stoneridge & supporters of our incredible students!!

~ PTC is donating and buying every teacher a Step It Up T-shirt to wear on the April 7~ Day of Awesomeness!
~ Mark your calendars and sign up to volunteer at the Day of Awesomeness! on April 7th morning and email stoneridgeptc1@gmail.com to learn the minimal times needed to be part of the event.

*** One very last chance to purchase a Step it Up Shirt is Monday (tomorrow 3/14). Student form(s) must be brought to the office before school at drop off to be placed in the school order at 10am. This is it, no orders, extra shirts or order exceptions after the school order is placed.

Stoneridge Spring Spirit Wear Clear Out!
March 21-25 online and one time in person at Open House on Wednesday 3/23 from 4:30-6pm.
PTC will have all ADULT sizes at blow out prices and blow out prices for YOUTH sizes with all older logos. Inventory and prices on these items will go live on Monday 3/21 through that Friday. Great chance to buy Adult spirit wear especially as school starts to open back up and campus volunteer opportunities and activities increase.

At Open House - all spirit wear will be available to purchase including new Dri-Fit Tees, sweatshirts and other items. This ‘clear out’ is important to move through inventory to help prep for  NEW exciting clothes, stickers, accessories and items for our new Store coming for the 2022-23 school year.
If you have a knack for design or ideas to have in the store for purchase, email stoneridgeptc1@gmail.com.  We’re starting that project in April so its complete before end of school. Minimal time involvement to give suggestions and design input. Thanks!

last Week's Walk Up Song was..... Shelli Linsenbach!!

Here is the song again: Shelli's Walk Up Song

This is why Shelli chose that song: I love this song for its message of perseverance, acceptance and true life challenges. It brings an awareness that everyone has a different battle they are fighting and you can't always see the scars people carry! Be compassionate. Never assume you know someone's full story. Acceptance and respect go a long way. We may all be in the same storm, but we are not on the same boat. Be kind.

Stay tuned for a walk up song next week!

Because I am also the EL coordinator, my schedule needs to be flexible next week to support our examiners. I am guessing that the most interruption to my schedule will be on Tuesday.

EL Reminder

Schedule?
-The examiners have a system and will pull students depending on test completion and groupings.

-Students may likely be pulled more than once to either complete a test section or complete the speaking portion of the test. If you want more details on how the test is administered please see this doc
What to prepare?
-charged chromebook
-working headphones
-remind your amazing dual language students to take their time, re-read their writing, and feel comfortable speaking with the examiner like they would feel comfortable speaking with you or a friend

last Week's Walk Up Song was..... Jenny Cooper!!

Here is the song again: Jenny's Walk Up Song

This is why Christina chose that song: We all know it's been a crazy year. This song speaks of the struggle, our hopes and a request to make lemonade out of lemons. It's also a beautiful mother daughter song as Pink has her daughter Willow sing along and star in the music video. Melt my heart beautiful. Hope you enjoy it!

Here is this week's Walk Up Song: Mystery Walk Up Song

Let me know who you think it is! Send me your guesses. Come on, give me a guess!! No really, guess!! How well do you know your co-workers??
