Sunday, October 13

Good Afternoon!! There is a lot of important info in this blog, so please read carefully.

This week's challenge is: Make a Social Media Post (With parents' support)

Data Day is this Friday, Oct. 18: Schedule

Our planning days are: 10/21, 10/25 and 10/28. You will have a half day sub in order to plan with your grade level. I am working on the schedule and will share it will you soon!

Meeting changes:
We are flip-flopping two meetings in November. The PBIS and Staff meetings will switch.
New Dates: PBIS Team Meeting- November 13
Staff Meeting- November 20 (Vicki Youhill will be presenting)

Updated Safety Procedures (District mandated):
1) Safety vests always worn when on duty- Of course, this can't happen until all of you have vests. The emergency bags are 90% ready and there is a snazzy new vest in each of them.
2) Classroom doors locked at all times

Exciting safety update: The district has purchased a safety program that checks in all guests on campus and manages attendance during an emergency. I will share more info with you as I learn about it, but it is an awesome program!

Also, an Eagle Scout painted numbers for fire drills, and the poles on our playground, this weekend. Look for the changes Tomorrow.

Jog updates:
Monday is pajama day!

T-shirt orders due Wednesday, 10/16.

Glow Party 10/18: The glow party is on our data day. Please take a look at this schedule and the data day schedule. Let me know if they work. There is currently one grade level that will go to the glow party with subs. We can change if needed. Just let me know.
Glow Party Schedule

Red Ribbon Week Info: We will not be celebrating Red Ribbon Week, but we will be celebrating "Respect Yourself" Week. It is only three days because the kids do not have school Thursday and Friday, but we will have dress up days following that theme. Also, Jesse Bennett is going to come on Monday, 10/28, to do a couple short assemblies promoting the 'Respect Yourself' theme. I will get those times to you ASAP!

These are the PTC needs, if you could please recruit parents:

We need chairs and volunteers for book fair. Nov 4-8 & Mar 23-27
We have 2 book fairs per year which fully fund our library media program. The chairs would work directly with Mrs Caines to set up the fair and manage the sign up genius to organize volunteer help during the week. Its quick, stress free and leaves you with a very warm and fuzzy feeling!!

Carnival Chairs - Carnival is our community event  - face painting, carnival games, inflatables, raffle, auction, DJ,  live performances. food, and MORE! We need chairs to help organize this event; you will have the support of PTC to guide you along the way and past carnival chair has a SOP guide set up and ready to go. Our past chair, Jessica Markov, is always just a call or email away to give us support and advice.
Carnival rounds out our fundraising for the year and is a blast!!
Carnival is May 1, 2020 5-8pm

Teacher appreciation week chairs - plan a week of fun to show the teachers and staff just how wonderful and amazing we think they are. It's a fun week! The chairs pick the theme and we decorate and pick out goodies and gifts. Amanda Smith will be here to help and she's already come up with some great suggestions and ideas!!

Speaking of PTC, Art To Remember could be a really great money maker. This program is at no cost to us and we make money on all projects that are sold. The items are super cute! I will be telling parents to look for information from all of you, so please share!
