Sunday, March 31

How is it possible that another month has flown by?? I honestly cannot believe it. April and May and that is it. Wow!

What a week we had. First, the rush to get ready for Open House, the hurry to get it over with, then the day after! Phew! I know I was worn out.

Again, thank you for all you do! You put so much time into making your classrooms look amazing and then all of the work you put in on Friday. Seriously, you are all the BEST!

Thank you to JeriAnn and her work on the Book Fair! The students will benefit greatly from the proceeds. (Cutest Clifford EVER...Just sayin.)

I have some staffing updates. Some I have told you, some are new.

Robin Learn will continue with the K/1 split.
Kristen Buccellato will be teaching 1st grade.
Aimee Schmitz will be teaching TK.
Sara Franco will be teaching 5th grade.
We currently have two opening in 3rd grade.

Our Pennies for Patients drive was hugely successful! Thank you to Cathy and her Leadership kids! It feels good to give back!

We were so lucky to have Jesse Bennett come share her book with our students. She is going to come again to work with our grade 3-5 students during testing. Some mindfulness will be great for our students as they test.

She is also excited to work with us for a quick exercise session weekly. I am thinking Mondays at 3:30pm. She said 30min will be enough. Please share your feedback about that with me.

Friday, March 1

Well, February was a quick week. I cannot believe March is here already!

This was a great week. Emma Sumner was a phenomenal guest. I know all of you have commented, but really, could there have been a more perfect inspiration for our students? Thank you, Robin, for all of your work coordinating her visit, and most of all, for bringing her to Stoneridge!

And then a pilot? Sheila, thank you for inviting Mr. Bartlett. As the 3rd graders have studied the four forces of flight, they were enthralled to learn about being a pilot and flying REAL planes!

Stoneridge is an amazing place. There is no doubt about that!!

We have many important things coming up:

1) On Monday, during PLC time, please go to the staff lounge to have your picture taken. These are pictures for the 'Teacher Time' auction. If your grade level is doing an activity together, you can all take one picture in front of the green screen. If you are doing something on your own, you get to take a solo pic in front of the green screen. Jill is going to take the pictures and fill in the background. Thank you, Jill!!!

2) On Wednesday, Derk and the school board members will be here for a tour. I know things will be a little nutty because it is Storybook Character Day, but that also means it will be extra awesome! Let me know if you would like us to pop in your classroom. We will be walking around for 30 min to an hour~ 9:30-10:30am

3) Tickets for 'Betting on the Arts.' The way the website is set up, you have to enter your credit card. If you are not buying a ticket for your spouse and don't feel comfortable doing that, just email Valerie Gross stoneridgeptc1@gmail.com she will take care of it for you.

4) Speaking of 'Betting on the Arts,' please encourage parents to buy their tickets!!

5) On March 13, Jesse Bennett will be providing a couple of assemblies for our students. She will talk about her book, mindfulness and leading them through a couple yoga poses. Stay tuned for assembly times. Due to her schedule, the assembly times will likely be similar to those of Emma Sumner.

Lunch Room Help Continued...
I would like to share the lunchroom expectations with you so you can reinforce them in the classroom. JeriAnn has done an awesome job of reviewing them with each class during library time, but the more reminders the better.
The expectations are:
Walk in whether you are sitting down or getting in line for lunch.
Sit down at your class' table.
No getting up unless you have raised your hand and been given permission.
Keep your voice low.
Stop talking when an adult asks for your attention.
At clean up time, all trash should be picked up off the top, around and under the table.
Wipedown Warrior wipes the table.
Thank you for support!!

Friday, February 15

A pretty cute girl and Toto at Incoming Parent Night.

First of all, congratulations on making it through Valentine's Day!! 💜That in itself deserves recognition.

Another thank you for Incoming Parent Night. It was so wonderful that many of you were willing to be there and help out. I was pleased that we had many excited families there to see what we have to offer.

Grades 3-5, if you have not signed up for CAASPP testing times, please do so here:
CAASPP Schedule.

Teacher Time for 'Betting on the Arts' still has some gaps. Please sign up here.

Speaking of 'Betting on the Arts' please click here for your invitation and link to get your tickets.

Need your help! We are making progress in the lunchroom but there are still opportunities for growth. If you could remind kids who the 'Wipedown Warrior' is, that would be very helpful. Many classes are claiming they have no idea who is responsible.
There has also been a lot of trash left behind on the tables. I plan to address these things, in addition to others, school-wide.  If you could give some reminders in the meantime, I would appreciate it!
